On August 17, 2018, their new single, "The Censor" was released with accompanying music video. The first single titled "Lightning in the Sky" was released on Januand the second single titled "The Bottom" was released on March 29, 2016. Devour the Day released a digital single called "Faith".
They also performed in Lazerfest in Des Moines, Iowa on March 10, 2015. The band took part in The Hell Pop Tour II headlined by In This Moment with additional support from Butcher Babies, All Hail the Yeti and Before the Mourning. On January 14, 2014, the band re-released their debut album which featured remixed and remastered versions of the album tracks as well as an unreleased song titled "Check Your Head" and an acoustic version of "Good Man". The band spent the majority of 2013 touring with such acts as Pop Evil, Hinder, Sevendust, Otherwise, Theory of a Deadman, Candlebox, Trapt, and Sick Puppies. The first single "Good Man" was released to radio on Maand to digital retailers on April 2, 2013. On March 18, 2013, the band's debut album "Time & Pressure" was released on May 7, 2013. Walser and Allison announced the band's touring line up would consist of former Egypt Central guitarist Jeff James and drummer Dustin Schoenhofer ( Walls of Jericho, Bury Your Dead). Teasers of the songs "Blackout", "Respect, "Move On", and "You And Not Me" were posted on the band's YouTube page Walser and Allison began working on the band's debut album in 2012 with producer Skidd Mills for a Spring 2013 release. The demise of Egypt Central and the formation of Devour the Day were announced simultaneously via a letter written by Joey Chicago and posted to Egypt Central's Facebook page. While Skillet was at its best during high-energy numbers – John Cooper knows how to control and energize a crowd like the rock star he is – the band slowed things down with some keyboard and cello. While the band exploded onto the stage with the first single off their latest album, “Feel Invincible,” it was their performance of their, well, monster, hit – 2009’s “Monster” – that was the standout of the night thanks to impeccable vocals, sharp guitar work and a pounding beat. Her lilting voice backed up frontman John Cooper perfectly, as she stole focus from a group clearly comfortable with the spotlight.Ĭooper’s wife Korey showed her versatility, swapping between keyboards and guitar, while guitarist Seth Morrison shredded his way through song after song. Ledger, who took home the 2012 Drum! magazine Drummies Award as top rising star, filled the crowd with energy from her post atop the stage. They faltered a bit on their older hits, with new frontman Bryan Scott at times fumbling the vocals that former lead guitarist Shimon Moore could handle with ease – including on their first hit, “All the Same,” and “Maybe.” But Scott sounded at home on his guitar, and by the time he closed the set with “You’re Going Down,” his sound was seamless.īut that’s the clinic that Skillet put on from the moment drummer Jen Ledger bounced onto the stage, sporting a classic LBD and bright lavender hair. Unfortunately, the band’s energy wasn’t as strong as its predecessor, nor what they exhibited during the last spin through Pittsburgh, when the band played for a sparse crowd on a Sunday night in September at The Rex.
